What is Integrated Pest Management?
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a science-based approach that focuses on preventing problems, identifying causes, and using using targeted treatments. A key pillar in our program is an annual soil test. This helps us understand your lawn’s pH and nutrient levels, eliminating the guesswork and and allowing for more informed fertility decisions. We build healthier turf over time.
Pesticides are only one tool on our trucks. Soil health goes a long way, but proper mowing and irrigation practices are critical as well. Beautiful lawns aren’t created overnight, and we partner with our clients to help them achieve their goals.
We Focus on Four Principles
2. Prevent
Correctly timed pre-emergent & insecticide applications are the most important treatments of the year. Preventing outbreaks of pests allow us to build thicker and healthier turf. Thicker turf naturally helps prevent weeds and disease. Think of it as a feedback loop.
3. Monitor
We don’t take the big box approach in assuming every lawn needs the same thing. We evaluate the turf conditions & pest pressure before beginning any treatment. The goal isn’t more treatments – it’s better turf management.
4. Control
When weeds or other pests break through, we select a targeted solution based on the turf condition, pest and general conditions. After each treatment, you receive a detailed service report stating what was applied, why it was applied, and what you need to do.

North Georgia sits a unique transition zone where both warm-season (Bermuda and Zoysia) and cool-season (Fescue) can thrive.
While both can thrive in our market, each requires it’s own treatment program. The vast majority of homeowners in North Metro Atlanta suburbs have either Bermuda or Zoysia.

Warm-Season Turf Program
Bermuda & Zoysia thrive during Georgia's summer heat and naturally enter dormancy in late fall.
Our warm-season program follows the natural growth cycle. We protect the turf while dormant, encourage healthy and quick spring green-up, feed actively during the spring and summer months, then transition to preparing the lawn for dormancy. Remember - next spring's lawn depends on this fall's treatment program.
Cool-Season Turf Program
While it's warm-season cousins enjoy the Georgia heat, Fescue thrives in cooler weather from fall through late spring. The brutal summer heat stresses Fescue, resulting in the need to aerate & overseed each fall.
Our cool-season turf program focuses on replenishing in the fall, developing strong roots over winter, strengthening in the spring and protecting in the summer. Fescue can look amazing when it is properly cared for - but it needs plenty of shade to protect it during our hot summers.
